It is just like 1990, but you spin on both hands. The way I learned, from one of the members of POD and from www.breakdance.com is that one hand is over the other and you spin on the bottom palm. [Dragon]
Actually, the way I learned, from one of the members of POD and from www.breakdance.com is that one hand is over the other and you spin on the bottom palm.
stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your left leg maybe a foot behind you. throw your roght hand to near your left foot, and at the same time swing your left leg up into the air like going to a handstand. the angle that you're going down will probably cause you to spin as you go into this handstand. you will now be on your left hand, your legs split, the right leg in front. ideally try to get upright from that first kick with the left leg. once you're upright you can switch to your left hand, and kick your legs like scisors. this second kick will spin you on the hand you jsut switched to. when you switch hands make sure that the second hand is placed in the center of your weight. if you practice this and actualyl start to get spin (which will be proably in a few weeks if you're reading this instruction as the first exposure to 1990), then when the momentom is srong lift your fingers and you can spin on the bottom of your palm. i use a wristband over the base of my palm.
firstly,u gotta use ur stronger hand when doin 1990.in ma case i use ma left hand.firstly, bring down ur right hand on da ground followed by ur left leg.secondly, put down ur left hand followed by ur right leg.(reminder)when putting ur right hand down u shouldnt spin coz ill make things difficult to place ur left hand.remember to put ur left hand quite close to your right hand.right now u should be in a handstand position.to spin is to force ur right shoulder n ur head.ur legs should be closed by then.always look at ur palm when spinning coz ill make ur body vertically straight.try spinning on ur bottom part of ur palm.bending ur elbows will make u more stabilised n spin more.at first u should get half a round but as time goes by ull build more momentum n spin more.it takes me about 3 months to get a constant 2 rounds n im still practising.the key is never give up.<:O)
I have been trying to get this for a long time and i just can't seem to spin a full 360. i first put my left leg on the ground then i put my right leg on the ground. then i spin a 180 or a little more than a 180 all the time. I'm not for sure but when you put your right hand down do you spin with that one. i think that is my problem. please somebody help me . write to me, you already know my address.
1.kick your right leg up in the air(and your left hand on the floor) 2.When you stand on on arm let the left leg be "dragged" after the other. 3.twist your body as much as you can. 4.and then finaly, spin on the side of your hand,on the flesh
Well I dunno botu you guys.. but those ways of doing it seemed pretty confusing. What I do is go into a handstand, by puting my right foot up first, then the left, and using that momentul to spin my right leg behind the left a bit, and simultaneously pushing on the floor with my left hand, and keeping just the ball of my palm on the ground of my right hand, thus spinning on my right hand. Hopefully that'll be helpful =)
Hey, Tony I understand your method alot better but still need some more help e-mail me at hi-c@streetracing.com I'm b-boy Hi-C by the wa, nice to meet someone who makes more sense. :-/
2000's aren't 2 handed HANDSTAND SPINS... more accurate definition by some1 who actually DOES THE MOVE(stupid fuckin "neo karate" page designer..) 2000's are 90's with one hand on top of the other in an overlapping triangle
the only ppl here that actually seem 2 kno wat they're talkin bout are "how to 1990" & "doing 1990" cept i doubt they can spin 2 + rotations w/ that technique
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to move into the 90 at an angle, otherwise there will not be enough rotational momentum & too much vertical "
YES the bent arm does help but is unnecessary when u become good at balancing
staying on the bottom half of your palm is a good idea, but mainly the pt is to minimize the surface area in contact with the floor

ive been reading this forum and i understand how some of you are getting confused. you probably thinking the advise of some of these guys isnt good. its good but you got to know your basics. and four rotations from a 90 is definetly possible. learn how to balance . if you cant hang on a hand stand for a while you should practice it.and then you go to one handed hand stands and you move from there. laters joey
I've given myself lots o bruises from working on this move, but I believe its worth it. All the nigg az that can get this down 2 i g2 give madd props 2. Pe ace BBoy 4 life
Dude, y'all don't know a thing. '90s are just a 1- handed handstand with a spin, 2000's are that, bu t you use your 2nd hand every now and then to push yo urself and keep moving... the one where you use bo th hands is called the skyscraper
y u guys making up these names? 1990's is spinnin g on one hand vertically, while 2000 is 2 handed. 1 990's on ur wrist is simply wrist 90's. there is no 3000's 2001's and whatever. ofcourse 4 is possib le people hit those everytime.. benny got the wor ld record of 17
