To complete an airtrack you must have a good set up, which is a flare, an airtrack can not be completed by itself. The spin comes mainly from your legs, so twist your legs and then twist your upper body after your legs have twisted. It is also possible to get 2 spins, but if you ever try that make sure you bring your arms close to your body, so u have more thrust and less drag.
if you wanna see a real good flare, just watch run dmc's "it's like that" music video. the guy with big hair does that. i don't remember his name, i think it was kra-z-kujo. it's pretty old video (some 1996 or so), but it's the only music video i know, where i can see an air track.
In DMCs video Kraz E Kujo busts out an airtrack not airflare. An airtrack starts and looks exactly the same as an airflare until the very end. you see, with airtracks you finish the move by landing on your hands then rolling into mills and so on. Airtracks when your hands hit the ground you dont collapse them onto your shoulder. instead you keep them stiff, then use the momentem to go into a move that involves straight arms i.e. another airflare or a normal flare. sounds hard, it is.
no. airtrax rotate on y axis only, airflare rotates on x and y axis. example, if you start airtrax facing one wall you will finish facing that wall, air flare you will finish facing the wall behind you. it is possible to do continuous airtrax and the difference has nothing to do with your arms being straight when you land. a common misconception.
This is stupid, the x and y axis dont have anything to do with airtracks and airflares. Me and all my bros do airtracks out of millz and spin on both x and y axis. That dosnt make it an airflare! AIRTRACKS ALWAYS CHAIN INTO MILLZ AND SIMALLAR MOVES!! AIRTRACKS ARE HARDER CAUSE YA HAVE TO LAND WIT YO ARMS STRAIGHT OUT!!! AXIS HAS NOTHIN TO DO WIT IT! ninja is right, your wrong.

airtrack: goes to mills an halos n shit airflare: goes to more airflares are flares peace out
AIRTRACKS and airflares, which is harder? AIRFLARES of course by far, not much people can do airflares continuesly not like airtracks where alot of people can do and much easier to link up with other moves.. airflare you can mainly only link up with other powermoves... airflares are much much harder becoz u keep ur whole body up with only your hands holding u up from the ground, and takes alot of POWER n TIME.. i have been practising over 6 yrs now and i can airtrack basically forever where airflare the most i have done is around 9-11... but really they are both really hard when u first start learning em but after a while u will get airtracks n month months later thats when u will get AIRFLARES
if you can bust that many airflares for real then your are nuts. Iv been practicing for even longer than that and i consider my self lucky to get 2 or 3 without losing momentum...
AirTRACKS = basically when windmilling, when going from your back/shoulders on the ground to your front (hands, forehead) on the ground, instead kick your legs UP enough to launch yourself into the air, do an entire rotation, and land back on your hands, into mills or more trax if you can.
AirFLARES = flares, but when bringing your legs around front, whip them up hard enough to get airborne, do a rotation, and land back on your hands into more flares/airflares or whatever you want.
Both are dam impressive, airflares take more upper body strength (duh, only your hands touch the ground) good luck.
The difference between an airtrack and an airflare is right in name of the move. An airtrack is more vertical, which is why you barely have to rotate in order to land again. Airflare on the other hand is the same movement just more horizontal meaning your upper body stays lower to the ground which is why its called air-flare. Its basically doing a flare so high in the front you end up leaving the ground. Heres some examples, if anyones seen Kareem bust out his shyt, you'll notice his body stays more vertical which makes it an aitrack, as for bboys like moy you'll notice that their bodys stay more horizontal making it an airflare. But overall they are basically the same fricken move just one is higher and one is lower.
Man ya'll dum we'll juz leave it at airflare is like its name do'n a flare in the air (in my opinion i think is easier cuz i can do 2 n in airtrack i cant even do 1 only half) but an airtrack is like continual airswipes off the ground wait i take that back they dont even hab 2 b continual it's still an airtrack!!! Now stop Talk'n SHIT cuz imma the DANCE KING HAHAHA!!! WUSSUP!!!
duh! iz the hardest mUv to bust all thiz while... fOOk..how do ya guyZ juz sTaY in tHe aiR and yA caN tWisT aNd tHeN laNd aNd tHeN cOnTiNuE sUmmOre or jUz pOppiN anOtHeR cOmBo sHit.. hOw dO yA gUyz dO iT?
UHmm,i could only do one airtrack for now, some bboy could do airtrack and airflare's good because it depend how u do it right. However,i heard that korean bboy could fly and they are the master in airflare's 14 round and more.OUCH OUCH !!
Well, as you'all can tell, airtrax are one of the tightest moves out there. What makes it even more amazing, is combinations. When we first pioneered the AIRFLAIR (way b-4 trax) it began as an action drop into 90', which immediately cut down into a flair, and so on into other combos. The flair could later be brought back up into 90s etc, and into more AIRFLAIRS. Basically, we all know the moves right? Okay, HERE IT IS: What an airtrack is, is a WINDMILL on your hands. Simple enough right. Remember that in a windmill your feet are always above your head/and the rest of your body, and your feet tral in the 'windmill' CYCLE. Remember that a flair and a windmill are different moves. If you dont get it yet, then you and your lil' buddies aint doing it right. Check out some clips online, the might help you out. Lemme know what yall' think, good luck, and dont break your damn neck...
Yo! We r "(662)Double Six-Two Breakerz" from "Thailanda BBoy... "???" What r u all talking about AirTrack (A.T.)and AirFlare(A.F.)? I dont believe am true but i think... It's just a word!!!. OK, A.T. it's like spin on da air before ur arm hit da ground and A.F. it's like flare on da air before ur arm hit da ground too, but why u get that word stay up on ur mind. If u dont Believe me, u can ask anyone that can do AirTrack or AirFlare at u wanna say any name that, for sure they'll ans u,,, just "IMAGINE" man! And what r u think about my word "AIR TWIST" ???? Worldwide we r double B,O,Y and every 1 call with us BBoy, practice,, practice,, keep da break man! "PEACE"
I want to know where the Airflare article is at. And please everyone stop talking about the definition of airflares and airtracks because I think I am going to throw up from all this x and y axis crap. Start talking about how to do the move instead. Peace out.
You need to stop talking like that...your the biggest chigger ive ever heard in my life...three words..."YOU-AINT-BLACK"...and if i remember rightly, your Thai Chiggaz are known for being transexuals, so take that dik out your ass and peace out.....
Yes,it true that airtrack and airflare's are different not the same because airtrack is lower and airflare's is higher up and u must have alots of upper body strenght to do continous airflare's but i recommend learning this move last because it the hardest move u ever learn and it very hard to catch back on the hands when u don't locate the ground and overcoming fearness is also important. You must know how to do good windmill, flare's and swipe and some other. Some peoples don't understand how to do airflare's right because your legs and hip are very important to this move.WHile you doing it you suppose to lean on your supporting arm and then airborne and make sure locate the ground one legs have to be up and down and use your hip and legs and that when u will do continous. Some peoples don't use their legs and hip that why they don't have control in they power. If u look at korean bboy they use hip and legs and breathing technic is really important to breaking. You must learn how to control your move and it would look clean.
THE SIMPLEST WAY TO SETTLE THIS IS TO SAY THAT AIRFLARES ARE MULTIPLE AIRTRACKS!! TRUST ME, WHEN KUJO CAME AS A SPECIAL GUEST JUDGE AT BREAKER'S DELIGHT 4, I AND SOME OF MY FRIENDS FROM MY SCHOOL INTERVIEWED HIM AND WE ASKED HIM ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN AIRTRACK AND AIRFLARES SINCE HE WOULD BE A GOOD JUDGE OF IT!!
however, that does NOT mean that if someone does an airtrack in which they spin more than once is called an airflare. say someone spins twice in an airtrack, you'd call it a double airtrack.
in other words, one airflare is an airtrack and a bunch of airtracks are airflares.
damn im tryin to learn this move and all tha advice i see on it has to do with tha name of it. who cares what its called? i jus wanna know how to do it. when i go for one it looks like ima make it to my arm...but jus as my right leg starts to move above tha left...i collapse and only make it to my forearm. any advice will help....
by tha way i was at bboy city 9 las march and we were all circled around some guy trying to start shit with lil john (havikoro) and tha two talk shit back and fourth for a while, then this guy busts 23 airtracks inna row (thats right i call em 'airtracks') then boy had to come save lil johns ass with one of his crazy airtrack combonations..somethin like regular trax to babies to tha hopping kind to a 90 or something....that korean guy got 14? wow! ...yeah and before that me and my crew were up at out for fame in austin and some bboy was doing tha hopping airtracks on tha tips of his elbows, and hands on tha sides of his head. he musta been tossin that shit under him perfect..barely picking up off tha ground...
some say it is the worst move to learn....i say BULLSH*T!.....the problem comes when u need to continue it or do a combo from it. to start training an airtrack do a windmill from standing up and spin in air while doing it
havent you ever heard of obo wang one guy in that crew can bust airtracks or flares whatever you call em in holland there both the same move. he can do about 20 to 30 and keep doing flare, 90 combos he can also do airtracks on ONE HAND or ELBOW ( that means he lands on the same hand he starts with 360 DEGREES in the air instead of 180
I can already do flares and windmill and 1990 the basics. what is a good technique for airtrack. ive been training it for 3 weeks now and i still cant do even ONE correctly
the best way to do a airtrack is to watch vidos study eat shit practice sweat shit and practice your ass of 10 hours a day heres how you do it place your right hand down than go 180 and swing your legs like a windmill than yall spin upsidedown than catch your self than repeat the turn ive been able to do this move for 18 years ive been breakin for 33 years in i can do them 60 times then i get tired.
bboy goro is absolutely right. airtrack is pretty much any 360 or more spin within your flare or windmill pretty much airflares are continuous airtracks but landing back on your hand. get your shit straight.peace, never stop breakin
first off you guys are hilarious with the airflair and airtrack stuff i was laughing my a** off reading that crap n-e-wayz I somewhat agree with project butterfly's theory only you would not land on the wall behind you it would be the wall beside you that your hands landed on .airflairs are circular ,if you pay attention if you do like 5 airflairs you make a nice little circle airflairs are very similar to haylows ,i use the same type of wip on my haylows that i do on my airflair's and airtrax to me well i remember practicing at cal state L.A like 3 years ago or maybe a ltlle more when thats all we were practicing me a bunch of kids from L.A.B and alot of other crews even like peter pan used to go and his homies those were the days when their was not so much anymosity n--e ways when we first started practicing air-trax we had no idea that it was even possible you could do air flairs airflairs the name at least hadnt come into play untill after some kid hit two airtax and noticed that the only way he could keep going was to whip like a flare well renegade flare thats how i do my airflairs also i wip like im gonna renegade flair then when my leg comes to my face almost and my arm feels twek i wip, but airflairs came from airtrax the first person i seen do continuous airflairs was benny from flying steps then after that we all started to freak it and you could do airflair to windmill also it doesnt just have to be airtack windmill one airlfair to windmills would not be concidered airtrack windmill airtrack to me is more like an ariel it like a straight spin and it is way more difficult to do continous airtarx then airflairs because your body is just staying stright you really dont have that much of a wip ...well thats my two cents oh and caveman was like i dont even know about all that crap ..lolz man i trip out on the way you kids abreviate your words like when you say mills instead of windmills hah hah funny sh** i dont know why it is so funny to me! peace
In Christina Aguilera's New Music Video "Can't Hold Us Down", Half-way Through The Video Before Lil' Kim Starts Rhyming, A B-boy Does A Few Air-Tracks! He Looks Like That One Cat From The Battle Monkeys!
Hahaha, Yup I Did Some Research And Found Out That Yes...It's My Man Do Knock From The Battle Monkeys! He Came Down Here To Hawaii And Took First Place At The B-Boy Reunion 2003! Much Respect!
you all need to stop tiping stuff because you dont know wut your saying you dont know how to do air flares are wut you dum idiots call airtracks you guys dont know how to do them so dont wast your time trying to tell everyine how you do them this is a martial art site not a leaping for joy site with dum bboys who cant do thiis move breakdance should stand for Bad breath like bboy track 2 Retard who cant give good instuctions Elephantitis from the groyn area Area were fagets aspress fellings-dance- Keeping it gay like crazy legs swipes Droping grasefull on the flore Akward ass foot work that you suck at Numerouse spy with a thousand positions on crazylegs ass Crazy legs, ken swift suck Easy shit to master jazz is beter.
You all are some retarded braindead breakers you all suck
alright, whatsup yall, i am from birmingham,Al(205) and i am tryin to learn the concept of an airflare,i've seen people do them but i really don't see is how they do it. From someone who is experienced, could u please break it down to me on starting it off. I start off with putting my left arm down first. When i see bboys on videos do it,i noticed the way that they whip ther legs around. I definetly need to know when do i start whipping my right leg under and when i plant my right arm down, does that weight of my body affect it. Me out of 5 other bboys only live in b'ham and the rest are some wack ass raver kids who doesn't know jack about bboying. So i don't get much of any advice for breakin. Someone help me out.
Its simple. Airflares are like swipes done past horizontal with out your feet touching the ground. Airtrax on the other hand have been around since the mid 80,s. They are windmills just using your hands and rotating around your head whith out your back touching.
Airtrack and airflare are the same thing just that different people use different name for it...so stop this stupid argument BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!
why do you even bother learning karate. You planing to kick someone's ass? hahaha, don't make me laugh. If you get lucky, maybe one day you will run into a physical confrontation, where you will try to use the skills you have spent years of learning. But fail miserably since you will just end up getting maced or shot by a gun. hahaha, you enjoy wasting your time, learning karate? just tell me ONE, JUST ONE incident where you had to use karate skills.... I bet there is NONE. hahahahahahhaahaha fucking faggot ass bitch. karate sucks so much fucking dick, you idiot mother fucker. hahahahahaha. You think you can defend yourself? by using KARATE? hahaha. some novice who don't know how to fight at all would probly knock your ass out from a adrenelin rush. idiot fuck! keep breaking...
You probably won't believe me, but I but up to ten airflares once, I'm been in the game for 5 years...
And airflares are not all that brilliant, sure it looks real good, but it is over done by lots of bboys, and startinig to lose it's novalty, therefore, strive to learn to do it, but also keep it original by adding your own flava.
the best airflares were done either in 02's Vagabonds vs Expression 1st place battle or in BOTY French nationals in Pockemon vs Fantastik Armada (the part1 video found at style2ouf.com)
btw, 2 ne other pro breakers out there, it was pretty obvious france was gonna win 03's BOTY world - they were simply crazy in natl.s

Damn pples, airtracks or airflares are like the same but pple just do them in different ways or sty les. Many good breakers out there could do these i n different ways haven't u all seen that? They all do it into combos. Y does it matter so much... As lo ng u kno how to do it, right... It's funny how u guys argue lol, how pathetic hahaha... Peace out! Mit subishi EVO Rules! :P
First of all there really is no real difference b etween the action of air flares and air trax. the b asic motion is the exact same thing. the differen ce between them is the setup, air lfares are done f rom a flare and air trax are done from windmills or standing (standing is by far the hardest way to st art them but looks super sweet if you can do it). Th e secret of keeping your AT/AF foing is to separat e your body into, essentially, two "gyros". the f irst acting gyro is your two legs using a whipping action thus creating momentum and centrifugal f orce(harnassing cent. force is the number one in gredient in good AT/ AF). the second gyro is your t orso, using your arms to create momentum and cent rifugal force, "loading" your legs to make anoth er whip. if you can getthe timing right to put toge ther the two gyros you will be able to sustain AT/A F to the limits of your muscles. i recomend learni ng air flares first as the initial flares provide your body with a momentum potential to begin with . after mastering AF then move to air trax from win dmills, again there is already a store of momentu m. these go next because of some additional force s required to get your shoulders off the ground an d load your legs for the whip. after these go to sta nding air trax, but make sure you have extremely s trong abs if doing summersaults makes you sore yo u will not be able to do more than one because all of the energy required here comes from torquing you r abs.
if you need demonstration of AF find th e freestyle session video (i cant rmember which v olume at the moment but i think it is 7) when after t he ending credits Bboy benny does an insane serie s of them.
hence the name airflare. air+flare= airflare. airtracks can be done plain standing what u talki ng about? haha i seen heds hit them from airchairs and ish.. yeah. airtracks originated from a kid i n cali, kujo and benny got alotta props for doing t hem cuz the world thought they were the first ones to hit airtracks when really they were the one of t he first to connect them in combos. my boy dat batt led kujo when he had airtracks and kujo didn't eve n have it back in the day
they are similar movements but I thought they we re the same till I saw an airtrack
if you can ge t a hold on the dvd UK bbboy championships 2001 the bgirl from usa allstars (A-B-Girl is her name) sh e does a few. she does em from baby freezes and its l ike an airflare with your head on the ground- NO no t a Halo! but a cross between the two and she does fa ce the one wall-
then another thing some of yo u have described is a a indmill in mid air
Thes e were invented by Bboy Wizard(he also invented t he egyptian) They are called "Double Rocks" 1. 'double' because you do a normal windmill firs t- then when you stabb you jump over yourself in a s tabbed windmill stance but the rotation is like a n airflares, then you fall back on your hands and c ollapse to a normal windmill then jump again- so t here are 2 mils in each 'double rock'
2. the y are called Rocks as opposed to mills because a Ro ck is the Australian name for Windmills and wizar d (who invented double rocks ) is an aussie.
I didn't believe in airflare untile I saw one wit h my very own eyes and dud airflare is 10 times hard er than an airtrack..
airflare is just like a irtrack but you will always have one hand at all ti mes. Never will both your hands be up in the air evn if its for an instant.
they are not the same man, cuz if u don't believe m e then check out www.style2ouf.com and watch the battle witht he guys against the girls and u will s ee an air flare (not airtrack)
yo first off this is funny and second can any of yall do the move?well i can and all i gotta say is airtrax and airflairs are the same damn shyt just people call it different names depending where u from in houston we call it airtrax.i mean u have to understand that.for instance in houston we call hand hops hand hops and my boy from masters of mayhem crew from brownsville calls them rockets my boy from flordia calls v-kicks applejacks so it depends where ur from so just know its the same shyt i would know the first cat to do continous airtrax or airflairs whatever u wanna call them thaught how to do the move in the first place...check it out bboy moy havikoro he does 7 at freestyle session 5
yo my boy moy from havikoro first cat to do continious airtrax at freestyle session 5 taught me how to do the move in 2000 and its the same shyt it just gets called a different name depending on what area ur from so quit being gay....cause in houston we call them airtrax and one of my boys from cali calls them airflairs
