This is a very good kick for board and brick breaking. It has lots of power. It is not allowed in some sparing competitions, ask a judge before you use it.
The axe kick is too damn slow in real-fighting situations. Who is the idiot that wrote:"it is much better if you bring up the leg in an ark avoiding your opponent".
What a dumbass, if u miss the opponent, u should be expecting a hit to the balls!! (unless u got no balls
What I've also been taught, but is very hard and almost impractical to pull off, is a double axe kick where the kicking leg stays up in the air while making two consecutive downward strikes. According to my teacher it can be used effectively for hits to the shoulders of an opponent, but would be very hard to learn how to do.
You have to bring the leg up in an arc so that you won't hit him coing up. And the axe kick I found was useful in compotitions to bring down their guard by striking down on their arms.
Axe kick is only useful if your opponent doesn't know how to strafe. 1 brief inward-side move towards the kicker and you have his whole body at your disposal.
this kick sounds similiar to the front heel thrust (except the two hit suggestion). I brake wood with the simple and quick extension of a front heel thrust.
this is when u anticipate ur opponent's punch.first u use one of ur hands to grab the arm of the opponent when they pucnh u and use ur other hand to push the on the shoulder(same side u caught their arm)and kik them quickly to make them flip!
I could kick all of you guys' asses. I mastered the Axe Kick when I was still in diapers. I kick my mom in the face every night before I go to bed (just to let her know I still rule.) One time, at lunch, this guy wistled when he walked by the window, so I freaked out and Axe Kicked the whole village -- even the old and the dead.
first off, axe IS a great kick, you just have to know how to use it. Like everything else in martial arts, timing is everything. I usually use it as soon as the fight starts jumping straight to my opponent, also, when i run, i bring my right leg out, then back, jump off my left, and axe with my right, or you can do a 3 by reversing the feet order. Another good place to use it is, after a low front kick
if i didnt have a machinegun i still wont use axe kick. u raise ur leg and the dude will rush to one of ur side and either round house your balls or execute spin hook or heel and u wont have any children (even if u wear groin guard ur well and truly fucked )
is this just like a hook kick? i think thats wut its called, you kick to the side of the person then bring your heel in to hit them, Danny did it in fight school the same day he got kicked out, he was given a warning for doing it bacause he hit Paul in the head
To all those talking about sidestepping and rushing in: This kick is almost useless if the opponent can actually do that. Instead, if you get your opponent off-balance or while recovering they can't move fast enough!
Paul: nah hook and axe are different. hook comes in to your stomach and then around into a round position, with your foot by ur ass. Axe comes up like a front kick, straight, then goes up and comes straight down onto the persons head, hitting with the ball/heel of the foot, depending on style.
my school says axe kick is for slow, stupid, amateur or fatigued people. besides, the circle axe kick is the best, its slower but covers your dick. right leg in back, swing right leg left then up then axe kick the guys head. Simple as ABC.
the only way to make this axe kick useful is to put it in combo or counter. i usually throw an hook kick to w/ my right foot the side or head or even the fake hook kick to make my opponent move move to the left to avoid or block it then unleash your axe kick w/ left foot
an axe kick is also called the slamming kick in some places. thrust me, it is damned useful kick. go watch fighters in korea and see how they do it. slide in and execute an axe kick. it is fast and effective.
it is not only for slow, stupid, amateur or fatigued people.
this kick can be very lethal, if you find the right teacher, it can be used for attacking and also counter attacking (going in the backards direction), so.......all those people that talk bad about this kick, is simply cuz they don't know crap about it!
i don't think anyone will read my small section in the "1080" section, there are just too many moves and ppl are looking so fast but i despreatly need help!!!
you should use this kick when the oponent is on the ground or on hes knees or crowched down and not facing u so he wont know what hit hem ,i wont recomand this when the oponent is in the standing position ,because its easy to block or dodge,or be nocked off balance.
Only dummies use an axe kick on a guy on the ground when he can just step on him. I am sure this will be a lot faster than lifting your leg up high to gain momentum. The guy will just roll away or just sweep your legs as you lift your leg.
Anyway, stepping on the guy with your body weight will create more impact then the momentum you gain by lifting your leg high.
your kick can be lethal even if you can't find the right teacher. you can have the best instructor in the world but have the worst kick at the same time. your skills doesn't depends on your teacher but how hard you train.
i did this in a recent fight. as i did a axe kick on this big fat guy, he grabbed my leg. i wanted to jump up and kick him with the other leg but it was useless. but instead, i drag this whole fat pig down as i fell...
Axe kicks are usefull both in-out and out-in, or as i would say downward kicks and axe kicks. Wtf tkdists use these to good affect with a more "chopping" affect as mentioned above. i cant really understand people saying they're useless. maybe thats because those people's axe kicks are useless. the can indeed be very slow if your slow and your stupid and use them at the wrong time. e.g. of a good time. quick skip in side kick then double up to axe kick works very well on good fighters. also if you're "arcing" an axe kick, you are slightly hidding it e.g. over blindside, but if your good enough by bringing the leg up straight in front you can re-act to the persons evasion, most wtf tae kwon do ists will know what im talking about.
Almost useless move for most of the people. Whatever you'll say, axe kick first needs you to be pretty supple to gain a good height. Second of all, you have to show your back so you can hit correctly without the risk of breaking your leg. Finally, it's pretty stupid since you need to be able to use completely your weight to be able to give it some strenght, and I doubt many of you guys can do that easily without losing balance...
hey make those axes super speedy 2 beat those baddies by making the arc quick and narroww. whip that foot down lighty and u have KO ready axe that was used in under 3 seconds. They never saw it coming!!!!
unless u know the ground game or ur fightin a drunk, dont attempt it. what if u miss? most fights do go to the ground, so learn some ground before u even try it cuz ur vulnerable to a take down if u dont connect. and for "age_of_asians", do u know what an axe kick is bro? u dont show ur back fool. u bring it straight up then down on the target w/ ur heel. i like to bring my knee hi up 1st cuz it makes the kick faster.
what makes me mixed..
a little boxin/kickboxin.... Tang Soo Do/Tae Kwon Do Black Belt and my newest love.... Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu White Belt (shit is sic wid it!)
don't laugh at the white belt, cuz BJJ white belts can whoop ur ass!
before i bounce u know i gotsta rep the bay, f'sho!
Axe kick was only useful for me when i was low ranking student in uechi-ryu karate. those 10th kyus sucked. an expierenced fighter could actually mess up your leg really badly if you did an axe kick.
ppl pick fights with you when your azn. (those stereotypicall fags)
Some guy tried to kick me and i did a slow ass axe kick and hit his locked knee. ooooo. thats what i call a suspension. them faggat ppl try to mess with me. i hate them. this is the only sittuation were i found this technique usedul. to embarres a stupid inexpierenced fighter wannabe.
I have expierence in Uechi-Ryu Karate, Nihon Ju jit su, and tae kwon doe.
Currently looking for a wushu school in my area. Massachusettes. anyone know a good one tell me plz.
The best way to stretch for an axe kick is to learn the (forward)splits. If you can easily pull off the splits at will then a axe kick is just like a split just standing.Easy?
Throw the axe kick form a front kick chambered position. Fake front or even throw a front kick then throw the axe kick from the position. Extrmely effective in sparring
the arc in an axe kick telegraphs it so much. just do a stretch kick (straight kick, cheerleader kick) it's faster and doesn't open up the balls and can be done when locked up with an opponent to his face. only try an axe kick if you "bill wallace" fast (or faster) with your feet.
CHAMBER FIRST by mixedmartialartist408 on 2003-07-11
the axe kick isnt faster if you lock your leg. an axe has to come from the top, and the fastest way to the top is straight up. so knee up first (chamber). a stretch kick is just that, a stretch! that "stretch kick" won't work if ur locked up with an opponent simply because theres no space to lift your leg if u keep it locked. i think u can see that coming more than if it was chambered first. every kick is supposed to come from a chambered position. for one its better form, and second it hides the kick. u can set up the axe kick by throwin roundhouses (or other type kicks), then once the opponent bites on that u can switch it up to an axe kick. every kick, punch, move, or whatever else out there IS effective. its just a matter of knowing when to use it.
Hi,y'all I just want to tell y'all that I'm in the pornographic, controversial website www.gayultra.com. I'm the one with the yellow helmet; completely naked and hairy(with black pubic hairs up to 2 inches) and a 10 and a half circumsized cock. I think I'm next to Michael, the one with blonde short hair who's sucking a 8/9 inch teenager (18) cock and with white, juicy, cum spilling out his mouth. Whoever's available out there email me at davecarson@aol.com. But you have to be gay and with a cock longer than 8 inches and you've gotta know how to have rough sex. Forgot to tell you I am 26 years old, (5ft 12) and live in california
I use mine from a side ways position, if I miss a side, or roundhouse kick its easy to kick the leg up and turn into a nice one to the shoulders. hard to land, looks amazing..
The way I was taught, first you kick 'em in the nards, and if they double over, you axe kick them in the back of the head. Of course, this will probably kill the guy... Also a good finisher if they are on the ground. Especially if you're wearing boots, heh heh. Kurata has the best flying axe kick! Check out "Fist of Legend" (fights Jet Li) and "Bloodfight" (fights Bolo Yeung).
An axe kick is only useful if you can do it. Those of you saying it's too slow, it's because you guys are too slow. If you do an axe-kick and keep your hands in a guarded position the opponent can't attack you. One hand protecting your head/solar-plexus and the other protecting your groin. But, the axe-kick is dangerous to use. An axe-kick to the collar-bone will almost definitely break it. To the area at the base or side of the neck, it will kill. The force of an axe-kick comes from gravity+leg-muscles+elasticity. By elasticity, I mean that you leg automatically wants to spring back down after being stretched so much. So, if you're going to use an axe-kick, make sure you're either going to hit a non-vital area or you really want to kill your opponent.
an Axe Kick is only effective when used when set up like a tornado, one spin then slam it down with the rear leg, in reality thats the only effective method of executing this attack
I think the axe kick is a handy kick if thrown correctly you need to bring the leg out to the side slightly to avoid hitting your opponent on the way up, keep your leg slightly bent and when your leg gets to its highest point whip it downwards while straightening the leg.strike with the heel of the foot. Unless you are super quick i wouldnt use this as a opening kick. its a lot safer using it as a follow up. If you throw the kick well it is devastating wherever it hits your oppenent especially if they lean back to avoid the kick and it smashes into the chest.
unless one has practiced the axe kick properly, they should just use it as stretching exercise/w armup because 1.) u could pull a muscle 2.) fa ll on ur ass and look like a HUGE idiot (says the voi ce of experience) 3.) if ur slow, a quick oppone nt could just catch ur foot right above the heel, a nd then he's pretty much got u anywhere he wants.
in response to SomeBlackbelt, i think thee gu y meant a variation of the axe kick. up in an arc, go straight down. crescent kicks.... a crescent. m ore of a slashing motion
THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF AXE KICKS. THERE IS A INSI DE AXE AND A OUTSIDE AXE. MY FAVORITE AXE IS THE INS IDE AXE. THE AXE KICK IS VERY USEFUL. YOU FIRST LIF T YOUR LEG UP AS IF DOING A INSIDE CRESCENT KICK. BU T THEN YOU DROP IT IN THE MIDDLE VERY HARD. IT COULD KILL SOMEONE.
"by Azultkd on 2003-03-12 i did this in a recen t fight. as i did a axe kick on this big fat guy, he gr abbed my leg. i wanted to jump up and kick him with t he other leg but it was useless. but instead, i dra g this whole fat pig down as i fell..."
And I've been lobbed down by using this damn kick. The fucker grabbed my leg while I was raising it and fo rced me over. And unlike lord morgue's asshole at tacker, this guy wasn't fat. He stayed up. It's gr eat being attacked often, eh?
You guys are all gay!, I can just us a f**king Mach ine gun....
Shit, bitch, ass, pussy, fuck, d ick, cum lickin, bastard, pecka head, shit face, asshole, cock socket, Dick sucking faggot, Piec e of shit asshole, Fagg! The axe kick is too damn slow in real-fighting situations. Who is the idi ot that wrote:"it is much better if you bring up th e leg in an ark avoiding your opponent".
What a dumbass, if u miss the opponent, u should be expe cting a hit to the balls!! (unless u got no balls
Axe kick may be slow. Inner crescent will leave y ou open. Outter crescent's hell as is a side kick. Roundhouse, oh hell, you'll be screwed in a fight depending if you sweep or kick high. Front kick, y our foot is caught. Now tell us, idiot with the mac hine gun, what kick is good?
because it exposes you for long (because you hav to lift your leg above the target) you must cover i t well and be able to execute it very well.tho its a powerful kick, it takes alot of time and energy, s o i wouldnt use this in a street fight. i mean u dont rely see this kick in ultimate fighting.
