flares... when you do virgin flare (body flare if u will)....swing your body around...don't throw it...keep in mind that it's NOT a kick. Also extend your body as much as you can, ideally your body should be parallel to the ground. Try to keep your legs straight and toes pointed, it helps.
Well, what can I say. I can start off pretty good with my kick going in the clockwise direction. I try to keep my legs as straight as possible and I get the front part of the flare pretty good but for some reason I always end up falling down on my hip or legs when I move toward my left support hand working my way towards the back. If any fellow B-Boys out there can help me I would greatly appreciate the advice. I have been trying to get this move down for over a year now off-and-on and have still not been successful. I get enough momentum on this movement, but I don't seem to be able to maintain the balance demands- shifting my weight correctly for example. i think a flare is spining on your back stand up then drop to your right hand then kick your left leg to right hardwhen your doing this ease to your back and you will spin or do a flare

basicly its way easier on a mushroom than on the floor and will help you get the technique and eventuly you shuld be able to do it on the floor
this is the order that you should learn things in

you will find if you work on this alot it will take you about 6months to get but when you get it..man!!!! it rocks

practice..practice..practice.. the stuff ujean talks about couldnt be more accurate on learning this move. keep your legs locked too..u want ur wasit moving..not your legs. i really wanted to learn flares..and got 6 flares in 2 months. ur body just needs to get used to doing it..and to build the muscles in your forearm and shit..and FAST HANDS is a must. u need to be quick with the hands. 1 day i practiced doing flares 40 times in one day, just pulling out 1 flare each time..barely.and the next day i did 6. SO ITS ALL ABOUT PRACTICING. NEVER give up. EVER

hey, im a breakdancer and ive been breaking for about 8 months, ive got all da moves pretty easily but flares are causing me some real problems. going anti-clockwise, i can get from da start position into the front position but then before i can get to the back my right leg hits the ground so i cant get high enough to do a second flare. i seem to be going no where fast. i'd appreciate it if someone could give me some advise. thanx

aight check this out in order to do flares (more t han one) u either gotta be pretty strong or pretty fast. The greater you are with one the less you nee d of the other.
