The windmill is actually really simple. I learnt the windmill 1 month after I saw breakdance the first time. All you have to do is to try to rotate on your shoulders. NOT your back. sine your body weights alot more then your legs. you must keep your weight around the head. then just really fast rotate your shoulders. First comes the shoulders. Then the legs. When you got that you should feel that you can keep on rotating. or else its something wrong with you :D

There are not a lot of people that usually start off with the right arm in the gut, but luckily, heh heh heh, I do. What you have to do lift your left leg really high up, then sweep your right leg right under it. You should feel the pull on your hips. This should start you off. But remember, roll on your shoulders, not your back!
the windmill is quite simple. Like deffy said you rotate across your shoulders NOT your back. A common problem with people connecting windmills is they wait to set themself up. Each time you turn over you shouldn't have to get your arms into position, it looks bad because you stall when you do that. Just roll across your arms if anything and push as you do. To keep your legs and feet from hitting the floor you want to be high on your shoulders and swing your legs around (not under or over) your body. To get use to connecting mills a good way to start them is to sit with one knee up and one knee down. You turn to the side with your knee down. (left knee down...turn left). Hopefully this is helpful.

Alright, itz really gonna take u more then a month to learn this, so keep practicing, it'll come.
Here are some tips tho: Learn to collapse ur stabbing arm properly. When ur rotating push against the floor with the arm and collapse on to ur shoulders. Keep ur legs spread apart and straight. Roll on high on ur back almost on ur shoulders. and uh keep practicing.
the leg position is simply holding a v form. stand with your legs apart so that your feet are about a foot and a half to two feet from your shoulders. when doin the mills you should keepthis leg position throughout the entire movement.

I have been practing the windmill 4 about 1 month and can only make it around 1 time. I practice everday because I want to be able to windmill by senior ball. Is it possible to learn by May? man all this shit looks confusing but here are a coupla tips that might help....as your on your back and about to roll into your stabbing arm, (counter clockwise) focus on kicking your right leg down, and then back. as you roll up on to your stabbing arm, you should then concentrate on kicking your left leg under you and keeping tha right leg as high up in tha air as possible. remember, when doing this you shouldnt reach for tha ground with your stabbing arm as you roll into it, you should keep it at your body and let it get to tha ground itself. to get up on that stabbing arm, its more about using tha swing of your right leg pulling back and your left leg going above than what your upper body is doing. concentrate on tha legs, tha rest of your body doesnt do much. also dont bend your legs, try to keep em straight and apart. going up on tha stabbing arm gives you tha air for your left leg to go under without hittin tha ground. one of tha things that helped me get it tha quickest was tha way i learned to start off. rather than going from my back, i always start from the position of being on my stabbing arm. i put my weight on my left arm like in a handglide, and have my legs out straight, left foot touching tha ground, right leg jus hangs out there...i kick my right leg up and left under at tha same time, and assuming im kicking correctly, this allows me to drop in on my left arm....jus like when your actually doing tha mill. its a better way to start, considering that you start your windmills with balance, and its easier to learn how to drop in this way, cause you can go ahead and learn that without having to make it up on your stabbing arm from your upper back.
u cannot learn mills online, try to find a bboy that can help. and not to be discouraging..if it takes u more then hhalf a year of hard practice.. dont do power or look into a nother hobbi.. =T
I love this fucking move its great, One time while performing the nutcracker elite I cracked my nuts so bad they went a bright purple color and were serverly bruised for days. This resulted in very bad sphincter contractions that left me In a real bad pain for weeks. When I was on the toilot the water splashed up and hit my balls and my god it hurt, almost as much as Windmill thinking hes the worlds best Windmill man, I think he is SHIT and he needs to be SHOT

whatsup yall, i've been breakin for about a year and i really haven't been practicing the windmill like i really want to but everytime i attempt to try it i still seemed to have trouble getting back around.So far i heard everyone say that(going clockwise)you have to kick the left leg up high and right leg under,but what do you relly have to concentrate on, the dropping from shoulder to shoulder or your legs? and how does your head move as u r rotating? I'm a martial artist/b-boy. The thing that i relized after learnin a mill is that you twist your hips. It is not a sliding motion, but more of a rollin motion. Stay on your shoulders. There is no popping off of the back. You just roll over on hands. remember to keep legs spread. GOOD LUCK! Do not BRUZE ya hip haha
I am a master BBOY title holder and what you guys are talking about is alright if you can already do most advanced moves. Here's how I teach my students. First you should lie on the ground(I prefer on my right side), not flat but not sitting up either, on your elbow is I deal until you can transist from other moves. You take you right leg and swing it clockwise, then when your right leg is halfway around you let your left leg follow. The leg crossong motion should start your spinning movement. At this point you want to twist your sholders clockwise and land in a pushup position. After practicing one mill a couple hundred times, you try to start to land in the same position that you started. Then after you can do a couple you trie to land in a baby freeze after one mill(with your hands about 3 inches apart and you elbows just above your stomache. For people that keep hitting their hips/knees/feet on the ground while you're trying to mill-put your head on the ground. when you're on your back make a conscious effort to put your head to the ground and when your up on your front point your forehead toward the ground (contact optional) For the l-kick, k-kick, etc. look up at the sky and don't be afraid to rotate your shoulders, when you rotate your shoulders so that your back faces the ground (obviously it's not going to be parallel) you can throw your legs a lot higher or closer to your body (and it looks tyte) If you got NE questions email me...or not, learnin on your own werx too...

When you start doing this move you really won't b e able to hold it long until you condition your arm s!! Your elbows should be touching just below you r ribcage. Your arms should be like a triangle to t he floor.

windmills aren't that hard to learn, you just ha ve to figure out where to rotate your body (your sh oulders). FOR CLOCKWISE MILLS An easy way to start windmills is to sit down on the floor with yo ur legs streight in front of you and your right arm sort of behind you on yur right side. Swing your le ft leg to your right side and as you do this, roll of your right arm down to your back and tuck your left arm in to your body. While your doing this, your le ft leg should also swing in a circular motion in fr ont of your body. Right when you roll onto your bac k, swing your right leg to your right then up and ar ound, tuck in your right arm, and roll onto your le ft shoulder blade. From here both your arms shoul d should be tucked into your body and your whole bo dy should be in the air (except for your left shoul der blade and maybe your head). From here swing yo ur left leg under your right leg and place your tuc ked arms on the floor so only your forearms and may be your head is/are touching the floor. at this po int your body should look almost like a triangle t o the floor. Next, swing your right leg under your left and roll onto your right shoulder and then on to your back. Practice this to learn your mills an d other mills to.

Here are so me tips tho: Learn to collapse ur stabbing arm p roperly. When ur rotating push against the floor with the arm and collapse on to ur shoulders. Ke ep ur legs spread apart and straight. Roll on hi gh on ur back almost on ur shoulders. and uh keep practicing.

mill tips by nefari on 2003-04-10 man all this shit loo ks confusing but here are a coupla tips that might help....as your on your back and about to roll int o your stabbing arm, (counter clockwise) focus o n kicking your right leg down, and then back. as yo u roll up on to your stabbing arm, you should then c oncentrate on kicking your left leg under you and keeping tha right leg as high up in tha air as possi ble. remember, when doing this you shouldnt reac h for tha ground with your stabbing arm as you roll into it, you should keep it at your body and let it g et to tha ground itself. to get up on that stabbing arm, its more about using tha swing of your right l eg pulling back and your left leg going above than what your upper body is doing. concentrate on tha legs, tha rest of your body doesnt do much. also do nt bend your legs, try to keep em straight and apar t. going up on tha stabbing arm gives you tha air fo r your left leg to go under without hittin tha grou nd. one of tha things that helped me get it tha quic kest was tha way i learned to start off. rather tha n going from my back, i always start from the posit ion of being on my stabbing arm. i put my weight on m y left arm like in a handglide, and have my legs out straight, left foot touching tha ground, right l eg jus hangs out there...i kick my right leg up and left under at tha same time, and assuming im kicki ng correctly, this allows me to drop in on my left a rm....jus like when your actually doing tha mill . its a better way to start, considering that you s tart your windmills with balance, and its easier to learn how to drop in this way, cause you can go ah ead and learn that without having to make it up on y our stabbing arm from your upper back.

You take yo u right leg and swing it clockwise, then when your right leg is halfway around you let your left leg f ollow. The leg crossong motion should start your spinning movement. How To Mills by B.O. on 2004-03-22 windmills aren't that hard to lear n, you just ha ve to figure out where to rotate your body (your sh oulders). FOR CLOCKWISE MILLS An easy way to start windmills is to sit down on the floor with yo ur legs streight in front of you and y our right arm sort of behind you on yur right side. Swing your le ft leg to your right side and as you do this, roll of your right arm down to your back and t uck your left arm in to your body. While your doing this, your le ft leg should also swing in a circula r motion in fr ont of your body. Right when you roll onto your bac k, swing your right leg to your right then up and ar ound, tuck in your right arm, and rol l onto your le ft shoulder blade. From here both yo ur arms shoul d should be tucked into your body and your whole bo dy should be in the air (except for yo ur left shoul der blade and maybe your head). From here swing yo ur left leg under your right leg and p lace your tuc ked arms on the floor so only your for earms and may be your head is/are touching the flo or. at this po int your body should look almost lik e a triangle t o the floor. Next, swing your right l eg under your left and roll onto your right should er and then on to your back. Practice this to learn your mills an d other mills to.

What you have to do lif t your left leg really high up, then sweep your rig ht leg right under it. You should feel the pull on y our hips. This should start you off. wi ndmill by bboy neodi (FSC) on 2002-06-22 the windmill is quite simple. Like deffy said you rot ate across your shoulders NOT your back. A common problem with people connecting windmills is the y wait to set themself up. Each time you turn over y ou shouldn't have to get your arms into position, it looks bad because you stall when you do that. Ju st roll across your arms if anything and push as yo u do. To keep your legs and feet from hitting the fl oor you want to be high on your shoulders and swing your legs around (not under or over) your body. To get use to connecting mills a good way to start the m is to sit with one knee up and one knee down. You tu rn to the side with your knee down. (left knee down ...turn left). Hopefully this is helpful.

Here are some tips tho: Learn to collapse ur s tabbing arm properly. When ur rotating push agai nst the floor with the arm and collapse on to ur sho ulders. Keep ur legs spread apart and straight . Roll on high on ur back almost on ur shoulders. and uh keep practicing.

mill tips by nefari on 2003-04-10 man all this shit looks confusing but here are a coupla ti ps that might help....as your on your back and abo ut to roll into your stabbing arm, (counter clock wise) focus on kicking your right leg down, and th en back. as you roll up on to your stabbing arm, you should then concentrate on kicking your left leg under you and keeping tha right leg as high up in th a air as possible. remember, when doing this you s houldnt reach for tha ground with your stabbing a rm as you roll into it, you should keep it at your bo dy and let it get to tha ground itself. to get up on t hat stabbing arm, its more about using tha swing o f your right leg pulling back and your left leg goi ng above than what your upper body is doing. conce ntrate on tha legs, tha rest of your body doesnt do much. also dont bend your legs, try to keep em stra ight and apart. going up on tha stabbing arm gives you tha air for your left leg to go under without hi ttin tha ground. one of tha things that helped me g et it tha quickest was tha way i learned to start of f. rather than going from my back, i always start f rom the position of being on my stabbing arm. i put my weight on my left arm like in a handglide, and ha ve my legs out straight, left foot touching tha gr ound, right leg jus hangs out there...i kick my ri ght leg up and left under at tha same time, and assu ming im kicking correctly, this allows me to drop in on my left arm....jus like when your actually d oing tha mill. its a better way to start, consider ing that you start your windmills with balance, a nd its easier to learn how to drop in this way, caus e you can go ahead and learn that without having to make it up on your stabbing arm from your upper bac k.

Then after you can do a couple you trie to land in a baby freeze after one mill(with your hands about 3 inches apa rt and you elbows just above your stomache. How To Mill s by B.O. on 2004-03-22 windmills aren't tha t hard to learn, you just ha ve to figure out where t o rotate your body (your sh oulders). FOR CLOCK WISE MILLS An easy way to start windmills is to s it down on the floor with yo ur legs streight in fro nt of you and your right arm sort of behind you on yu r right side. Swing your le ft leg to your right sid e and as you do this, roll of your right arm down to y our back and tuck your left arm in to your body. Whi le your doing this, your le ft leg should also swin g in a circular motion in fr ont of your body. Right when you roll onto your bac k, swing your right leg to your right then up and ar ound, tuck in your righ t arm, and roll onto your le ft shoulder blade. Fro m here both your arms shoul d should be tucked into your body and your whole bo dy should be in the air ( except for your left shoul der blade and maybe you r head). From here swing yo ur left leg under your r ight leg and place your tuc ked arms on the floor so only your forearms and may be your head is/are tou ching the floor. at this po int your body should lo ok almost like a triangle t o the floor. Next, swin g your right leg under your left and roll onto your right shoulder and then on to your back. Practice this to learn your mills an d other mills to.

Here are so me tips tho: Learn to coll apse ur stabbing arm p roperly. When ur rotating p ush against the floor with the arm and collapse on to ur shoulders. Ke ep ur legs spread apart and s traight. Roll on hi gh on ur back almost on ur sho ulders. and uh keep practicing.

mill tips by nefari on 2003-04-10 man all this shit loo ks confusing but here are a c oupla tips that might help....as your on your bac k and about to roll int o your stabbing arm, (count er clockwise) focus o n kicking your right leg dow n, and then back. as yo u roll up on to your stabbing arm, you should then c oncentrate on kicking your left leg under you and keeping tha right leg as hig h up in tha air as possi ble. remember, when doing t his you shouldnt reac h for tha ground with your st abbing arm as you roll into it, you should keep it a t your body and let it g et to tha ground itself. to g et up on that stabbing arm, its more about using th a swing of your right l eg pulling back and your lef t leg going above than what your upper body is doin g. concentrate on tha legs, tha rest of your body d oesnt do much. also do nt bend your legs, try to kee p em straight and apar t. going up on tha stabbing a rm gives you tha air fo r your left leg to go under wi thout hittin tha grou nd. one of tha things that he lped me get it tha quic kest was tha way i learned to start off. rather tha n going from my back, i alway s start from the posit ion of being on my stabbing a rm. i put my weight on m y left arm like in a handglid e, and have my legs out straight, left foot touchi ng tha ground, right l eg jus hangs out there...i k ick my right leg up and left under at tha same time, and assuming im kicki ng correctly, this allows m e to drop in on my left a rm....jus like when your ac tually doing tha mill . its a better way to start, c onsidering that you s tart your windmills with ba lance, and its easier to learn how to drop in this w ay, cause you can go ah ead and learn that without h aving to make it up on y our stabbing arm from your u pper back.

F OR CLOCKWISE MILLS An easy way to start windmil ls is to sit down on the floor with yo ur legs streig ht in front of you and y our right arm sort of behind you on yur right side. Swing your le ft leg to your r ight side and as you do this, roll of your right arm down to your back and t uck your left arm in to your b ody. While your doing this, your le ft leg should a lso swing in a circula r motion in fr ont of your bod y. Right when you roll onto your bac k, swing your r ight leg to your right then up and ar ound, tuck in y our right arm, and rol l onto your le ft shoulder bl ade. From here both yo ur arms shoul d should be tuc ked into your body and your whole bo dy should be in the air (except for yo ur left shoul der blade and m aybe your head). windmills isn't that easy..it's simple, but no t easy unless you've done things like this a lot. i t asks for patience, since you will hurt yourself many times before succeeding...I'd say startin g off is done the easiest way like this:
sit on the ground with your legs spread (this is for coun ter-clockwise). lean to your left, and kick your right leg straight over your left one, then do a ci rcular motion when it's bent much over your left l eg, so that you'll then kick it back, but higher; w hen you start kicking it back over your left leg, k ick it up too and when your legs are in a good v-shap e (over 90 or 100 degrees), bring your left leg the same track your right went - because you were bent at the beginning, now go almost to your left side, so that after your right leg is back on the right si de again and your left one is starting to go, you wi ll roll on your _upper_ back (shoulders). keep yo ur legs open - this is important - and swing them ar ound, so that your right leg goes lower, and goes t o your left side almost touching the floor (you tu rn your body with your legs, or a bit before your le gs), the left leg following the right. keep your h ands on your chest, so that you can with your wrist s move your hands towrads the floor and push a bit. roll to your stomach, and with your hands under yo ur chest, push yourself around - KEEP LEGS APART s o they help you move. when you come to your left sid e again (from your stomach), and your hands rise f rom the floor, kick with your legs so you'll get a c ircular motion.
after you get this a few roun ds, say three, stand up. start practising a new (f aster) start-off: from the stand-up position be nd down a little, "jump" on your hands, pulling yo ur other hand to your body so that you fall on your s holder, and SOFTLY ROLL to your UPPER BACK - keepi ng the LEGS APART. this gives you a lot of speed... but will take time to learn, too.
after this, you can achieve baby-mills from the same stand-u p position. but, instead of keeping the legs stra ight and apart, keep them apart, bend from knees a nd put your ankles across each other so that the le gs KEEP TO EACH OTHER AND WILL NOT OPEN. this is imp ortant to keep the motion...cross your arms befo re you, and roll VERY HIGH ON YOUR UPPER BACK - when you're on your back, kick a bit with your legs so yo u get the momentum to push you around to your shoul ders and around...this might hurt in the beginni ng, to your shoulders..
