~*~hey site really rocks!! i got ur site froom one of my friend, i know most of the girls dont like martial but i do, i looks pretty fun! actually its awesome! keep up the good work!! ~*~
a kip up is pretty much an overrotated kip up, instead of landing on your feet you push your self to all the way to your hands to land as if you were doing a push up
okay, there are a couple different ways to do kip ups: normal, no handed and the kip up flip (or kip up handstand). the basic key to the normal and nohanded is foot direction and upper body motion: 1. when you start out, roll onto your upper back/neck and put both hands beside your head. look at the ceiling and bring your legs over your body. 2. when you 'kip up', do NOT kick your legs out forward or even at a 45 degree angle; try to kick them almost straight up, closer to 70 degrees (this will seem like straight up when your rolled back) 3. this will propel you into the air if done right. now first, push off the ground with your hands. just try to push your body upwards even more. the second part, the one that most people dont know about, is in the abs. the trick here is to get your center of gravity over your legs, right? so basically contract your stomach muscles as fast as possible while in the air; it should be a violent, sudden motion. if done right, youll find yourself magically on your feet, albeit in a somewhat crouched position. *doing this with no hands is easy; just point your feet upward more, and the movement of your abs has to be a lot more refined and strong.
doing a kip up flip (or handstand) is alot easier than it looks (and it looks pretty hard): 1. the secret is not in upper arm strength. none of this is. when you go to roll back for a kip up (this move looks just like a kip up till now), you want to point your feet straight up, 90 degrees. actually doing this feels a lot different than it sounds; you will feel like your feet are going a little too far if you do this right. 2. remember, the strength is not coming from your arms; instead, kick toward the ceiling with all the leg strength you can muster; dont worry about your hands for now. this motion will drag your body into a handstand, but give the *appearance* that you are pushing yourself up with your hands. very cool. 3. hold the handstand if you can; this is not the most stable or easy way to do handstands but it is, actually, the way i learned first (doing it this way actually gives you better form because your not tempted to lean to the side you came from; you just go straight up). make sure you dont fall over forwards.
Man nice tips...... i got this the first time i tr ied it . but i kan do a kick up and a handstand... i go down the stairs with the hand stand the trick is in the legs. the more u bend the more the balance is in front of u so u have to take Hand steps to get a good b alance. and for the kick up flip i recommend u try a handstand first
no matter wat i do the kip up doesnt work, i can do i t on a bed, but on the ground it doesnt work. i end up land on my back....i came close to landing on my fe et but i slipped and fell again, if i move my legs cl oser together, it makes it even harder...pleez h elp...
alright, it doesnt take a lot of lower and upper b ody strength to do a kip up. What i do to do a kip-up i s put my palms flat on the ground by my head and curl up my legs until my thighs are almost touching my c hest, than i kick my legs as straight up as i can and as i do that i push off with my hands, and once you do that you get some air, once i'm in the air i curl my l egs up and kick down where my butt was and throw my h ands foward ,you should be on ur feet if u do all tha t.
LoL, kip ups are so easy to do, most of the power co mes from the legs. I never have seen someone do a ki p up flip though, maybe some one has some pics.
1. Get a runninng start of a hop or two. 2. Jump s traight using your arms for more momentum. 3. T ry to spin quickly. 4. If you dont land on your fe et, then obviously you're doing something wrong .
nickbreaker: what are you talking about? tha t's not a kickup flip, it really is hard, you have t o do a regular kickup except go all the way around a nd land on your hands before you feet. I have no ide a how to do this, I need to find a steep hill to start out I think.
i am a brown belt in karate an i have mastered the s ide front back roundhouse cresent andhooke kick does anyone have any other new kicks i can work on
Well, my instructor is currently away and I was w ondering if any of you know if there are a couple of good ways that I could practice this on my own. Sho uld I start out on a trampalean, or should i just wo rk on strengthening my abs and arms? And I'm not su re, but I think I'm not getting very high off the gr ound when I try it......
