a round-off back layout step-out. most people tuck one leg and make the motion look more like a kick than a traditional gymnastic step-out.
a variation is going up into a pike off the round-off so that the body makes a V and then kicking out to whip the torso back to complete the movement. It looks more powerful than a regular flash kick which simply floats over.
it is just a whipback, but you split the legs in the air. Also, it doesn't necessarily have to be done off a round-off
A standing backflip-kick, also called a standing flash-kick, or Guile kick. (Just another common name for Guile's special move from Street Fighter II, -sounds better than "standing flash-kick")
Use a 2 foot take-off, do the kick as soon as possible, keep kicking leg straight and bend the other leg, land on the kicking leg.
Hey peeps, ThaTrik here. I was in gymnastics for about 4 years, so i know how to do a standing back flip. I just tried this for the first time tonight, using my own method. *I strongly suggest you can do a standing backtuck first!!!!*
1. Stand on your left leg, and swing your right leg a few times to get into the motion
2. Swing your right leg all the way back, and kick forward like kicking a soccer bacll
3. When your kick is about 45 degrees in front of your leg, jump (one legged) off your left leg.
4. Your WILL land on your knees the first time (or head) so keep your hands up the first time. You will see they dont touch the ground tho =)
*Optional*
I tried doing a "flash-backhandspring" first, take off one leg and do backhandspring like above. I noticed my hands didn't touch the ground. So before i could think i just tried it again, harder, and got it =)
Thatrick has a VERY good description. It helps also to get a running start, like a gainer. Just kick REALLY high and hard to assure your rotation. If you're afraid to do that here's how we tought a member of my crew. 2 people hold a towel on each end, the person puts their kicking leg in the towel and when they're ready you swing it over for him. Might sound kinda crazy but he can do it now.
I've seen Eddy gordo(hahahahah!!!) do this move on tekken. It looks like a side flip but both his legs are exstended together. And he is Horizontal to the ground, and body is in a 90 Degree angle.
How do you get the momentum to do more than one rotation for a elbow spin. I've seen some guy doing them at the tecno fest at hart plaza(Downtown detroit)and he was hitt'in like 5 spin on the ball of his elbow. All I ever can do is 1 then fall on my Tail.(ahhhh!!!hahahahaha!!!)
1 - To NW: L step, R slide into horse stance, at 45 degree angle. 2 - To NE: R step, L slide into horse stance, at 45 degree angle.
3 - To SW: L step, R slide into horse stance, at 45 degree angle. 4 - To SE: R step, L slide into horse stance, at 45 degree angle.
5 - To SW: L step, R slide into cat stance. 6 - To SE: R step, L slide into cat stance.
7 - To W: L step, R slide into horse stance. 8 - To E: R step, L slide into horse stance.
9 - To W: L step, R slide, & body twist CCW with R elbow block. 10 - To E: R step, L slide, & body twist CW with L elbow block.
11 - To W: R front-cross-step, L step into horse stance. To return to E: L back-cross-step, R step into horse stance. 12 - To E: L front-cross-step, R step into horse stance. To return to W: R back-cross-step, L step into horse stance.
13 - To W: R back-cross-step, L step into horse stance. To return to E: L front-cross-step, R step into horse stance. 14 - To E: L back-cross-step, R step into horse stance. To return to W: R front-cross-step, L step into horse stance.
15 - To W: R half-moon back & around, turning CW from N to S. Retrace to return. 16 - To E: L half-moon back & around, turning CCW from N to S. Retrace to return.
So is this move basically like doing a back tuck, except you kick your leg out at the apex of the flip? Also, are you supposed to land on one leg (your kicking leg)or does it matter if I just land on both feet? Thanks!
can somebody tell me how to do a full because i'm g oing crazzzzy i want to be the first one in my gymna stics to learn it break it down easy.{on a trampol ine}
