run, jump, and do several front kicks in the air, switching kicking leg each time. Works best when you can have a couple people sitting down on the floor in a line, holding targets above their heads. Sometimes called a walk-over, b/c it looks like you're walking over the people. [luccini]
If anyone wants to see this move done extremely well, rent or buy Jackie Chan's Gorgeous. Bradley James Allen, one of Jackie Chan's bodyguards, does this in a big fight against Jackie. He does 4 kicks with ease and time left. The most I've gotten is only 5, but I have heard of 7 and more. The trick is to pull up your thighs and kick your feet in a bicycle motion, hence the more popular name, the bicycle kick. ~PEACE~
Presuming that u're quite flexible in your back, learn how to go back into a bridge and kick your legs over from there.Keep doing this until both parts become more fast and fluent. Then, place whichever leg u're going to go back on slightly behind u,tense up your shoulders and slowly stretch backwards, keeping your arms and shoulders stretched out.Once your hands touch the ground, kick over with the other leg.
hi if anyones stuck on going back into a walkover then try standing on two feet one a bit infront of the other(depending on which foot you kick off) and stretch up so your spine losens and it will make it easier to go back as you need a tight bridge to kick over.
I am trying out for cheerleading. I was a cheerleader last year but our coach never made us do a back walk over or handspring. This season we have a tuffer coach. She wants us to do that. I can go back into a bridge and kick over, but my wrists really ache. and i cant do it all at once really fast. Got any tips or advice?
I can't go back into a bridge without falling over. And i can't imagine kicking over cause its just to scary! I think i would break my neck or something...Any Tips? PLEASE HELP!!
ive been doing gymnastics fer a good long wile and here r sum tips.2 stretch out ur back an make it more flexible try lying on ur stomach and bringing ur legs up as far as they can go and lean ur head back.try and get ur hed 2 touch ur feet. Then try a backbend...if u cant do it yet then use a spot...to kik over..this is how i learned...try using steps in ur house.kik over on like the 3rd step from the bottom and work your way down 2 the ground till u can do it from there
in sum ways roundoffs r eaiser than catrwheels...you put both hands down at the same time and both feet down at the same time.try doing it on a trampoline and let me tell yuo....its ok to land with ur legs bent..once you lan straiten them..if you land with ur legs strait any way it will send a shok up ur ankle
to learn how to kick over i went into bridge .. and put my legs on the couch and my arms on the floor. Th en kick over. Once you can do that good, move to the floor and try kicking over.
I just learned how to do back walkovers a few days ago.I started by taking a few falls. That helps yo u alot be taking away the fear.Well anyways I star ted by going into a bridge with one leg in the air.W hen your down with your leg in the air kick the leg t hats up and when you know your going over pull the o ther one up.The first couple of times you go reall y slow and sometimes fall over but once you can go o ver a few times slow your speed gradually increas es as you practice them. Now I can do 7-8 in a row fas t.
If your landing bent legged in a round off, itll a ctually SAVE you time and energy if you intend to d o a back flip out of it.
And I thought the walko ver was a flashkick variation where you literall y walk upside down in the air. Only seen it done onc e in a Team Ryouko vid, and Chris mark is the ONLY pe rson ive seen do it. www.teamryouko.com

If you can't bend slowly to the floor, work your a rm muscles. Mostly its about strength and agilit y. Keep working and soon you'll get strong enough to do it then work on faster more fluent motions.
well, i've had a backwalkover for about a year no w, and i remember when i was trying to learn it, wha t helped me the most was practicing it on hills fir st. I would go into a backbend on a hill, and then ju st kick over and it was a lot easier. After doing th at for a while, it built up my strength more to be ab le to do it on the flat ground!

here is a tip on how to do a back bend- just stand like a foot or two away from a wall with your back fa cing it then go into a backbend but put your hands o n the wall and slide them down untill they're on th e ground......this really helped me!
I hope some of the more serious gymnasts who give advice here think first of who they're giving it t o. Some of these fools are kids who think it would b e neat to do flips. Kids, you're gonna break your n ecks. To perform some of these stunts, you must be under the supervision of a trained professional . Don't try these moves alone if you are untrained !
i've been doing back walk overs from the wall and im pretty good, now i want to try on the ground. but my legs still wont go over . please help and send so me tips!!!!thx

I used to be in gymnastics when I was younger. I co uld do bhs and everything acquired. But I had to qu it because it got way to expencive. So, i had to qui t. Now, that I'm older, and less flexibility, I st ill remember everything, but I can't do much. I ca n do the back bend, but sometimes I fall on my head. i'm thinking it is because I'm way to weak, or some thing like that. The walk over I need to learn to re train my self to do the BHS. I can't really keep my s elf up in a back bend, and I'm in big help.!!!
well if you do back walk overs its easier if u keep ure head close to the floor not on it but close and w alk ure feet close to ure hands that really helped me and for a forward walkover kik into a handstand push over into bridge and then push up from brige
